WE COULD REALLY USE SOME ASSISTANCE! It’s too late to schedule an event for your organization, but it’s not too late to go to an event that’s already scheduled! We need pompoms in advance of November 1 so the fiber piece can be finished!
PomPom Parties have happened at the Harrison Center, Arts For Learning events, and downtown at SPARK, and Jesse has done a great job organizing events at Ivy Tech. There is a campus-wide PomPom Party Thursday, September 26–come on out to the downtown Ivy Tech campus and make pompoms with the art department!

IFC 106 is located at the Illinois Fall Creek Center (follow link for map), 2535 N. Capital Ave. Indianapolis, IN
PomPom parties will also be taking place Wednesday mornings, 11-2 and Saturday afternoons 3-6 at SPARK: the circle located on Monument Circle. There is a coinciding Farmers Market there on Wednesday mornings–great things are happening in downtown Indy!

The next POMPOM PARTY at the Sky Gallery (fourth floor) at the Harrison Center is Tuesday, October 22, 5-8 pm!

Why do we need so many pompoms???
So we can use them on the 26′ long fiber art piece dedicated to the women of Indianapolis–growing and evolving our beautiful community! The central portion of the artwork is composed of three hands making hearts done using latch hook techniques. The rest of the composition is going to be created with pompoms and participants. My quote for the project is:
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, bring others with you.

Artists Kathy Coleman, Kassie Woodworth, and Gina Lee Robbins, are making individual latch hook hands that will be combined for the central portion of the artwork. Ten additional panels will create the rest of the artwork, and that’s where the pompoms are going to be. After The Village completes events on November 3 and the 13 panels will be sold during a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit Arts for Learning Indiana, Ivy Tech Art Department Indianapolis Campus, and Big Car Collaborative.
